THE TRADITIONAL OWNERS OF BRISBANE AND REDCLIFFE, THE TURRBAL AND NINGY NINGY PEOPLES and THE TURRBAL ASSOCIATION INC. INVITE YOU TO THE GATHERING:
"NINGY THINGY"
Where? KURBINGAIBAH “a place of kippa rings” - 41 Boardman Road Kippa Ring
When? 11am- 3pm OCTOBER 11 2008
For a reception and welcome to country by Maroochy Barambah, Turrbal songwoman.
There will be a tour of Kurbingaibah including some of the bora rings on site and discussion/education on regeneration and native species, particularly sustainability.
A gathering such as this has its roots in custodianship and community, sharing and reciprocation, as Aboriginal peoples have been practitioners of sustainability on this country since the first sunrise. This is a celebration of country and people in connection, a chance to learn and be part of an Aboriginal future.
Lunch will be provided so it is important to indicate numbers (vegetarian options are available).
Please call, text or email Naomi : 0410408716
N.Fisher@griffith.edu.au
Or Tim: 0405305108
Thank you,
Naomi and Tim
(on behalf of the Turrbal Association Inc.)
